I am often asked "why outfit photos?" It is beyond evident that I am no fashion blogger, I am not a model, nor do I follow all of the trends out there. I honestly just feel that most of the time sometimes, life can be pretty demanding and stressful, and people are always focusing on what they haven't accomplished in a day: "I didn't get my workout in! Why haven't I taken my car in for an oil change yet? I need to bake cookies for my kid's bake sale this week!" and so on and so forth (don't worry, I am the queen of this, I am not above feeling guilty).
Therefore, I am a firm believer in celebrating the little things. For instance: Putting together an outfit that I like. I love remixing my favorite items, getting the most out of my clothing. etc. I feel that no matter what I haven't gotten accomplished that day, at least I got out of bed, dressed myself, and took some pride in how I looked. I am also a huge fan of Polyvore, because it is like window shopping for outfits.
When Modcloth asked me to create a Polyvore set around the "Call of the Styled" coat, I was happy to oblige. The coat is cute and vintage-inspired, not to mention it looks like something from a story book. I decided to style it as if an IRL little red (blue?) ridding hood would have worn it, traipsing through the woods, probably with her camera in tow to take some cute outfit photos, *wink wink* did you see what I did there?
