Little Bits: Spring Update
12:36 PM
Since this weekend has been wonderful and chaotic, I thought I would share some of the fun stuff with you guys on the old blog here. As I mentioned in the last post, my younger brother David went to his senior prom this Friday and I live literally a block away from his friends house (very convenient this past winter when I needed my sidewalks shoveled) and that was where they were all meeting up so I moseyed on over and took about a million pictures of him, his date, and his friends.
Your younger siblings are not supposed to be taller than you! Back when I was in high school, David used to look so small and little for his age, people used to think he was my kid! It was only once or twice, but still. Now there is no doubting that he is my brother. The funny thing is, my other younger brother Mark (he is turning 23 this month) looks the oldest, and he is shorter than me.
Anyway, David and his date looked super cute and so did all of the kids. Just a few more weeks and he graduates, then he is off to the marines. At least I still have two other brothers to terrorize in the meantime.
Saturday was Maria's baby shower and it was a lot of fun! I didn't know anyone there except for Maria's friend Ariel but everyone was really nice. Maria's parents are the nicest people, her step-mom and grandma were cracking me up as well. She got so many cool things, baby toys are so awesome haha. Kyle and I talk about kids all the time and I am terrified. I have always wanted to adopt kids, but I know it is really hard to do. I have been so insanely busy the past two years with school, and now the house and pretty soon we will be planning our wedding for 2012, I think I need a year or so where nothing too crazy is going on before we start planning kids. But in the meantime I can just go to Maria's and play with her kid hehe! Her due date is July 1st and I can't wait to see what she has, she wanted to keep it a surprise. I know that no matter what she will be an amazing mom.

wow! how brave of your brother to join the marine corps! he and his date are both adorable!
ReplyDeleteAwwww. I did the same with my little brother this year and took photos with him for his senior prom! It is scary seeing my siblings grow up. I had a kid at 19 and though I was one of those people that also would rather foster or adopt a kid...I realized how amazing it is to have my very own "mini-me." It is hilarious to see my son use the same facial expressions I have right now during his first year of life. When I was younger I would baby sit my friend's child (she had a kid at 16) and it made me never want to have my own children...but I wanted to become a teacher regardless. I don't know...it is hard to explain...but having an unexpected child really changed my point of view on many, many, things.
ReplyDeleteAh, prom... Your brother & his date look super cute :) And, that is super brave of him to join the Marines!

The shower looked fun! I love baby showers. How fun to keep the baby's gender a surprise too!
I know how you feel, thinking about kids and it totally scares me too. Granted I'm still only 17 so that's probably a good thing.. ha but it literally TERRIFIES me so hopefully with time I'll get more comfortable with the idea. :)
Awwww, what a handsome little brother you have! And a cute date! My little brother started towering over me when he was probably 15 or 16. It's no fair, haha!
ReplyDeleteSuch an adorable brother and date!
ReplyDeleteOh..enjoy married life for awhile. So many exciting things ahead. Love the pics of the babyshower too.

ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet. Just yesterday my husband and I took professional photos for a group of girls before prom. It was amazingly adorable how excited they were. Personally, I never went to prom but it almost made me wish I had.

ReplyDeleteProm and a baby shower - too cute. Gah! Sara, David is adorable - as is his date! I hope that they had a fabulous time at prom! :)
ReplyDeleteseems like there is just so much going on already--definitely take it slow!
ReplyDeletethe shower looks nice and your brother and his date look adorable and so young! i'm the youngest in my family, but i have nieces and nephews who are like 18 years old and are taller than me! :)
well most of the time boys SHOULD be taller than their sisters. hehe. Of course it doesn't always happen. I am only 2.5" shorter than my oldest brother. . .it is funny because his 8th grade photos have him so much shorter than my mom and my 8th grade photos have me an inch taller than my mom. so if we were the same gender I would have probably been taller than him! While my other brother is about 5 inches taller than me, so forget that. These are really sweet shots by the way. You will look back on these one day!
ReplyDeleteTalk nerdy to me.
