Eats: Cinnamon Butter Cream Frosting

Cup cake

More fall eats! This frosting recipe is super easy, and I feel really lazy for posting this, because it is honestly just this recipe with cinnamon added to it. I like this one more because I am a cinnamon fiend.

3 cups confectioners sugar
1 cup butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla extract
2-3 tsp whipping cream
1-2 tsp cinnamon (to taste)

Mix together butter and sugar, then the rest of the ingredients. Mix well for about three minutes, or until everything is smooth.

I made this twice in the past two months for two different birthday parties. The first time I made fall-themed confetti cake, and in these pictures I made it with pumpkin cake. I liked both, and all of the cupcakes were eaten both times, so I think it is safe to say that people liked the frosting. Mmm, frosting.

That is all I have for today, but I am going to try to squeeze out one or two more posts before my vacation week, so stay tuned!

  1. So weird fact about me...I don't like cake, but I love frosting. Especially butter and/or cream cheese frosting. This sounds so delicious!! It would be good to dip graham crackers in to. (Is that gross?) (Don't care if it is.)

  2. YES! I made a similar frosting for some pumpkin spice cupcakes I made earlier this fall and it was amazing. SO amazing. I might make gingersnap cupcakes and use the same frosting for that. YUM.

  3. Now THAT is a nice twist! I don't think I've ever had that kind of icing Sara. Yummmmm!

  4. MMMMMM.... Butter is amazing.... so is confectioners sugar... Everything else you added looks yummy too!!

  5. Yumm! Me too! I'm a fan of cinnamon! :) xx

  6. Frosting is my weakness. I don't even need cake {or cupcakes} - just frosting!

  7. Kris decided to tell me he 'doesn't really like cinnamon' the other day. Like, what the fuck?! I think I need to file for a hypothetical divorce.

I had all these great cinnamon related recipes that I wanted to try! Like this buttercream!

Talk nerdy to me.
