Curio Fair-St. Ignace
5:00 PM
I can't believe that it has been a month since we went on this vacation and I still have so many pics left to share! This post is a little special to me because it is from when we stopped in St. Ignace on the way back down to the lower peninsula for the rest of the trip. When we were little kids, my family would go to Mackinac City and St.Ignace almost every single summer. This souvenir shop has always been a favorite for my family because as kids, we loved climbing up all of the stairs to the top of the tower and taking a ton of pictures on the ledge of the tower. It has a great view of the bridge, and of most of St.Ignace for that matter. The whole store is full of junkie toys, t-shirts,mugs and all of the standard souvenir fair. I ended up dragging the guys into the shop, and up the tower, cheesy as it is.
Yesterday was one of the most amazing days ever, Kyle and I headed out to Ann Arbor to look at a possible wedding venue-the first one we've ever looked at. We penciled in a date at the venue, and they are going to mail us a packet for us to look over and we then have two weeks to make a decision. So excited! Kyle and I also made a pit stop at Ikea on the way home because we have a serious addiction. I can't help it, I love that store so much, haha. We also went to the They Might Be Giants concert at the Majestic in Detroit and it was amazing! My third time seeing them, and I would go again and again because they give the best performances ever. Weezer maybe my favorite band, but TMBG owns the stage. And they are so nice! I even got a free sticker from John F, I was so geeked, still am. We stayed out a little too late but it was worth it.
But the best part of yesterday is that my brother David came home for ten days! He is an official US Marine. I am so proud of him, and I can't wait to go hangout later. He has been making plans and hanging out with friends so far, but Kyle and I are planning on trying to drag him to DIY fest in Ferndale later this evening. I seriously love life so much right now. I just need to plan a Ren-fest weekend with my friends and I think life will be perfect.

Love what you wore and good to know your brother was home even for ten days. Nothing beats the time with family.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your bother! I love this skirt. It's a perfect transitional piece.
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit!! That skirt is so cute! Every time we're in St. Ignace, we drive past this gift shop and never stop in - next time we'll definitely have to!! xo
ReplyDeleteWow Sara, you've been so busy! But good busy! It's really good to know that you're brother is home for all ten days!
ReplyDeleteI should go back to some places that I've been in with my family, I love the nostalgic feeling I get. I would totally climb that tower as well with a camera and shoot endlessly, the view is so gorgeous.
We don't have an Ikea here (yeah, I know it's tragic) but I do browse through their website often, they have such great stuff!
I really love your look on this post! I keep telling myself I need a denim top and I saw one just yesterday but I still wasn't sure about it. I'm still waiting for that one time when I see a denim top that calls my name and asks me to take it home ( if it really did that it would be creepy o.o)!
Isn't it exciting when you look at venues?? We found a reception venue in the middle of the city, it's an old airport turned into a Philippine library, it isn't so big but enough to fit our guests. I fell in love with it, and reserved it right then and there. But it is important to make sure, everything has to be just the way you guys like it :)
What a cute outfit, you look adorable! I love that gift shop! It was Jon's first time in there this year and he liked it too.
ReplyDeleteI'm always so happy when my brother comes back for visits, so I know how important that is!
Also, how exciting that you're starting to look into wedding venues!
