Sunsets & Meetups
8:53 AM
Tuesday was a lot of work and a lot of play rolled into one. I awoke at 5pm and did my workout, showered, took forever to pick something to wear (it was sooooo hot nothing looked comfy) and settled on this. It's pretty really, basic. I actually didn't even wear the scarf until I got home and it had cooled off a bit. I worked yesterday, then went home and met Kyle at the apartment , followed him to my parents house so we could drop of his car for my brother to look at, picked up Louie and headed to the puppy wash.
Yep, Louie had a bath night. I thought it would be easier to wash him there since the tubs are so big and all, but he freaked out. Barked, whined, and tried to bite the hose. We finally got him all cleaned up and he looks so pretty and sleek right now. Then we grabbed some dinner on the way home, walked Louie, then walked to downtown Royal Oak to catch a movie at the Main Art theater. After reading the review of "The kids are alright" on Tess's blog, I really wanted to see it. Kyle and I both loved it and I recommend it to anyone really.
After the show we were hungry so we got some frozen yogurt from the Purple Spoon, which was amazing! Lauren told me about the place before but I never tried it. I was missing out! Even Kyle liked it. After walking around for a bit we headed up to Gusoline Alley to meet up with Cat, Lauren, Maria and Cole. We only had a few drinks because it was a little late and it was a weeknight and all but it was fun. I love all the MI I have met so far, we are all so goofy. This meet-up was last minute, but I hope to get a bigger one going sometime soon. That would be pretty kickass :D

ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous! I'll have to try this out this weekend; you've just inspired me! :)
ReplyDeleteSo love the scarf. I bet Louie enjoyed that bath.
ReplyDeleteYeah, The kids are All Right is on my list to watch.
I so love that skirt. Sounds like so much fun you are having. The magnetic fields are an interesting group. Some of the songs take some getting used too. Funny, how some bands take some getting used too. I wasn't that thrilled with the new MGMT..but after several listenings, I'm warming up to the new CD.
ReplyDeleteLove that skirt.:)SarahD
ReplyDeletePurple Moon sounds adorbs. I have an ever so slight obsession with yogurt places myself! :)
ReplyDeletelike the skirt:)

Some days, especially wicked hot summer days, basic is all you need. And this outfit demonstrates a way you can combine several basic pieces and look chic without being fussy...which is something I sometimes have a hard time doing. In fact, you've inspired me to practice that today.
ReplyDeleteSimple chic. :)
ReplyDeletesometimes simple chic is the best chic, love the color of your skirt
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked the film!
this is so cute! I really love the little scarf on you!! xxx
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit, especially the skirt! It's soooo cute! I think you did a great job with adding the scarf, it makes it a little extra special :]
ReplyDeleteThat scarf is so cute! It really adds something extra to the outfit. Love. And what kind of dog do you have?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely gonna check out this movie now - I see it has Alice in it! :D Ok ok, the aussie chick that PLAYED Alice. Haha.
ReplyDeleteI love your skirt - I've got one just like it, almost, it doesn't flare out like yours seems to and it clings to my big bum quite badly.. but I love the hue and the way I can pair it with everything.
Your outfit is simple but gorgeous. xoxox Sent you a letter today!
I love your chambray skirt, I think blue chambray looks spectacular with white :) Yay for meetups! Hope you had lots of fun! Oh I've been wanting to see that movie but I haven't had time.
ReplyDeletei love your scarf!
ReplyDeleteyes, i've been meaning to watch the kids are alright, i may do so this weekend.
lovely skirt!
ReplyDeleteI have to read the book of The Kids Are Alright before I see the movie. I've been meaning to for about a year but I just never get around to it. I do really want to see it though, the cast looks incredible.
ReplyDeletePs-I want to jump in the screen and steal your skirt. It has dawned on me that nothing I own is particularly comfortable in 100% humidity and 95 degrees. I'm so miserable hot all the time, and then alternately frozen solid in my office. Do you have that issue?
I love the scarf Sara, so pretty, I love how you wore it with the denim skirt too.
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is adorable! I love the skirt and the scarf, and the first photo is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteTalk nerdy to me.
