CANDY! Yes, candy! I went to work dressed in this exact outfit yesterday; my co-worker Trish joined me by dressing up in her camouflage. I may have been called a dork by a few people, but it did bring some smiles to a few faces. My cheapo $2 hat kept falling over, resembling the sorting hat from Harry Potter instead of a witch’s hat, but I just rolled up a piece of paper, stuffed it in and viola! See? Sometimes, I know things.

We had a pretty low-key Halloween on account of Kyle having classes on Wednesday. I did make the most of it by getting pizza, making popcorn, dressing Louie up like a hotdog, and watching Halloween movies on ABC family. Kyle drove all the way to school and then found out his class was canceled, so he came home and helped me pass out candy to the little kids. Poor Louie kept barking at all the kids, and then finally gave up and just plopped on the couch like the lazy house-dog he is. I have soooo much candy left, it will be the death of me. At least it will be a sweet death. Yup, I just did that.

My instagram has been filling up with all-things fall as of late; everything from pumpkins, to pumpkin flavored eats. Pumpkin Spice ALL the things! The recent hurricane winds have knocked about 90% of the leaves off of the trees, not to mention relocating Halloween decorations and garbage cans alike. And Michigan is only getting the after-math! It still feels like autumn around here though, and Halloween never really feels like it is here without a viewing of The Great Pumpkin, Huzzah!

It’s officially Halloween season! My awesome and amazing friend Sara threw a Halloween party at her house last Saturday, we of course all dressed up, and we don’t really even need an excuse to. It was also the birthday of Suzzie and I, (my birthday twin even though she is two years younger than me!) yes folks, I am officially 27 years old, OLD. We celebrated accordingly with delicious chili, snacks including birthday cupcakes, booze, and lots of Rock Band. Just so everyone knows, I am horrible at Rock Band, but I like to think that my enthusiasm makes up for it.

The best part of a Halloween party is all of the costumes! I love that all of our friends are such dorks; it was almost a cosplay party in some aspects. Kyle’s love for the tenth doctor negates any distain he tries to display for Doctor Who (he hates Matt Smith for some insane reason), so we went as Ten and Rose. Let me tell you, it was so odd wearing that wig because it was a throwback to 2007 when I had long blonde hair, at least I don’t have the 25+ pounds that I used to have with it, ick. Mariah went as Gwen Stacey, Suzzie was Poison Ivy, Jamie was badass and went as a Hell’s Angel, Becky was April O'Neil. Dan went as a nerd, and Brian, Brian was a giant hotdog. I wish I had gotten pics of people at the party; I took a few when we first got there and failed to take any since. Some of my favorites were Sara’s costume as Kaylee, Bane, Robin, Waldo, the couple who came as board games, and another Brian who went as a giant chicken. Awesome times had by all.

It looks like we will be wearing our costumes again for Halloween party at a bar that my friend Cix is playing at. I think it is so cool to see what people come up with, so many of my friends make their costumes, and make multiple ones each year. Halloween is the best!

For the actual day of Halloween, Kyle had classes all day and I worked, but then we came home and got all dolled up to pass out candy! Okay, I might have gone to work in the cat ears, tail & makeup, hehe. We watched The Nightmare Before Christmas and half of Coraline and munched on candy and sipped cider. The neighbors hooked up a sound-system and made it so animal noises were coming from the bushes, it was really funny watching Louie go crazy. Two of my brothers came by to say hi and steal candy, and the neighbors chatted us up for a bit. Kyle roasted pumpkin seeds too, some sweet ones with Cinnamon and some salty ones, mmm! It was the perfect first Halloween at our new home and I loved every minute.

Last night Kyle and I participated in more Halloween festivities at another Halloween party, and we had a lot of fun! Kyle decided to go as a "Smarty-Pants" and I went as a Witch. We hit up CVS for some cheap accessories and there you go, two cheapo costumes. The party was pretty fun, especially for us not knowing anyone there. Aaron greeted us and then I quickly found the only other person I knew from my class, Jason. Kyle seemed to hit it off with some of their friends, and like always, I seem to have a radar to find the other Sara(h)'s in the room, hehe.

Now I have to get this house in order, one day I will manage to keep it clean longer than a week. I have lots of homework on the agenda so I am not sure how well posting is going to be this week, but I am hoping to get a food post up soon. That way I can manage to cook something and prevent Kyle from ordering another pizza, ugh!

Last Saturday we went to a Halloween party! Kyle went as a crazy old man and I went as Kurt Cobain after reading a blog post from HelloGiggles. I stole one of Kyle's big cozy sweaters, donned my old converse and even added olive oil to my hair to make myself look more greasy and grungy.  We ended up in the garage playing beer-pong, me watching, the guys playing, and hanging out with my friends Sara and Anne so I was nice and warm. I really had fun seeing friends that I haven't seen in awhile and meeting new ones. 

I can't believe how fast October is flying by, there is still so much to do! Picking pumpkins, watching cheesy Halloween movies, dressing up with friends and going out, and passing out candy! Kyle and I are so excited  to pass out candy this year because we never got to at the apartment and we live on a corner that has heavy foot-traffic. We are also planning on heading out with friends next weekend, and we are going to dress up and it's going to be a blast! Eeep, can't wait!
