Shred

Last Friday I started the Jillian Micheals 30 day shred because I was craving something different and a few of my friends were doing it. Meg is doing rather well and is the one who convinced me to give it a go. I had been doing a 60 minute ballet DVD in the mornings for the past 2 weeks, 20 minutes > 60 minutes any day! However, I think the only way I survived the first few days of the shred is because of those ballet workouts.
The first day of the shred got me sweating, but it wasn't too bad. Then I woke up the next day and I am pretty sure that my limbs quit my body. I just completed day 5 and either I am getting better, or am starting to block out pain expertly. Also, I am a freak who likes to work out before work. I don't get it, I hate getting up early, but I would rather just get the workout over with. Bonus: releasing endorphins before work helps me actually do work instead of plotting evil things against my coworkers.
In other news: I cooked a lot over the weekend, but most importantly taught myself how to make strawberry jam! I don't even like jelly/jam that much, unless it is homemade (I have high maintenance taste buds). So yeah, look forward to lots of foodie posts and whatnot.

I love the 30 day shred (I usually do it 2-3 time a year) but I definitely know what you mean about your limbs quitting your body! I've never been able to master the pre-work workout...but working out is the first thing I do after work because I also just want to get it over with and I know if I wait even 10 minutes after I get home I just won't do it.

I prefer working out in the morning too and just getting it out of the way! Lately I have been having trouble with getting up early though, dang baby.

i have wondered about those shred videos. i run in the summers, but in the winter, i need to mix it up a bit. maybe i will try this! i also need to work out in the morning. i am so tired by the time i get home that i don't want to do anything!
ReplyDeleteI did the 30 Day Shred a year or so ago & never finished it! I liked it though. I think I just got bored.

I found Insanity not long ago & was supposed to be starting it soon. I want to prepare myself first though because I watched the first few videos & I was like :O

That's amazing! Good for you! I started doing yoga again (of course in the privacy of my own home). I wish I could do a P90x or the 30 day shred but I have the worst knees. Keep us posted on how it goes! I'm excited for foodie posts ::claps like an excited teenager::!! Oh, and that outfit is so stinkin' cute!

Jillian, doesn't play! I had one of her workouts before and boy was I worn out. HAHAHA I haven't heard of Shred, so thanks! Working out prior to work is good. I bet it gets you going. I would work out after and be super tired. But of course I did have to be at work for 5:45am so getting up even earlier wasn't an option. Great outfit Sara! It looks great on you.

Hey me and tiff did the 30 day shred but i never finish because I got LAZY! I'm pretty mad at myself now because I didn't finish I just kinda give up. but i would love to get back to it and take it seriously Jullian Micheal is a breast and i love her haha Anyways good luck sara and i really like your outfit so cute your blazer is a dream love the color
