Motor City Comic Con
5:30 PM
Con! Or, as I kept calling it "KHAAAANNN!". This is the first one I ever attended (we crashed one once), and it was so awesome! I am glad we went on Sunday, because Stan Lee was there Saturday and it was a mad house. Also, some guy from the Walking Dead, seriously, even on Sunday the line for that guy was wrapped around the place.
But anyway, everyone looked awesome! Lots of people were dressed up, we bought things, we saw people, we attended panels-it was so much fun! We met Colin Baker (the Sixth Doctor) and he was so funny and pretty damn flirty! He called Stevie "Babe" and when he signed her plushie, she told him that it squeaked when you squeezed it and he said "So do I!" FLIRT. He was also super nice and waited while the dude taking the picture was struggling with my camera. Which is why when we met other people, we just took pics with Stevie's phone, easier to work. Anyway, he was cracking us up at the Doctor Who panel, and was very nice to people even though he could barely hear them asking questions. He also told Stevie he liked her hair when she stood to ask a question (flirting again!), what a guy.
We also met Walter Koeing from Star Trek! I got an autograph for my dad too, and Stevie gave him a plushie of Chekov that she made. The Star Trek panel ended up being more fun than I thought, considering I have barely watched any of Next Generation, Enterprise or any of that. Marina Sirtis won us over though! I remembered her character because she was one of the few females on Next Generation, but oh man. She was HILARIOUS! I seriously just wanted to follow her around all day and listen to her be snarky and charming all at once to people. We ended up meeting her too, and she was super nice to us and had us cracking up again. I also really wanted to meet Nicholas Brendon, who played Xander on Buffy The Vampire Slayer, but we had to get going. He did walk by us on the way out and he was PRETTY. Kyle was jealous, he likes Xander.
Anywho, that is about it. I am trying to convince Kyle to let me go to Florida to go to Hurricane Who with Stevie in November, but we are not sure if it is in the budget. But still, fun times!

ReplyDeleteHAHAHA I am totally not surprised about the flirtatiousness of Colin Baker. That is cool that you got to meet him! Love all the Star Wars stuff you found on your travels there too!! I went to a convention on the first couple days of my honeymoon. >.< Wish I had a good time though (we've been to conventions before, but not since Anime Boston in '05 now).
ReplyDeleteYou seriously had a great time, and that is wonderful!!! I don't know much of anything about Star Trek. . my husband does and I used to watch The Next Generation as a child. I saw netflix has the original Star Trek and it has been in my que waiting for watching. I'm too much of a Whovian perhaps?
