Detroit Zoo1:54 PM
I mentioned in the last post that we were going to have some more fun this weekend, and we did! One thing that I have always loved about the areas I have lived in (Ferndale, Royal Oak, and currently Oak Park) is the fact that there is so much to do in walking distance. Yesterday, Kyle and I, along with Mark and Mariah, took Liam up to the Detroit Zoo. It is literally about a mile and a half from our house, so we decided to walk over yesterday morning. Of course it was 90 degrees out so we were a bunch of sweaty people by the time we made it there, but once we got inside, it was pretty amazing.
Kyle took some outfit photos for me by the giant bear water fountain. I think every trip I have ever taken to the zoo, we have always taken photos by the giant water fountain, haha. Liam had a blast throwing pennies in it and trying to convince us to let him pet the baby ducks that were swimming along in the fountain. I couldn't tell you my favorite part of the zoo, the butterfly house, the reptile house, the polar bear/arctic ring, the red pandas, the lemurs, the meerkat digs, the llamas or the kangaroos! Kyle and I seriously thought about buying a membership because they are open all year round but since Kyle works Friday nights and Sundays we knew we would not have enough Saturdays free to go while we have house stuff to work on. But next year for sure! I would love to go in the fall and winter, I really cannot wait to graduate and have more time do do things like this. I think next weekend will be one of relaxing and getting some house stuff done, and by that I mean shopping, haha. Kyle has been itching to go to Ikea so I think that is the plan for next Saturday.
On a side-note I want to say thanks for all the comments on the updated layout! I probably spent way more time than I should have on it, but I really like how everything looks more aligned and cleaned up. I don't like clutter so now I feel better when I do a more photo-heavy post such as this one and there is not a bunch of stuff on the side-bars making it look so distracting. I am trying to do this with a lot of things in my life, I finally purged my closet and I may have more to get rid of. I have been eating pretty good except for a few bad things this weekend, I even joined the YMCA again. Here is to small steps right?
