Wicker Park
8:48 AM
The most eclectic area near Chicago in my opinion, home of the hipsters, dive bars, a mix of greasy and healthy food, and all the shopping you can do. From used record stores, to dollar stores, from Urban Outfitters to the buffalo exchange and all the boutiques and vintage shops in between. If I ever move to Illinois, it will be to live in Wicker Park. The actual park has a huge dog run, which is extremely awesome.
Kyle picking out our future house ;)
I have always wanted a scooter....
Doesn't that look inviting?
We headed inside to have a bite to eat, and Kyle picked a little pub called "Pint". I have to say that it was pretty awesome. Look at all the books and the comfy couches!
Look what we found.
It looks horribly tacky but really cool at the same time.
How much is that doggie in the window?
...and because I am mentally ten....

Yay! We'll have to head there on our road trip! It looks like so much fun. I can't believe how narrow and high all the houses seem to be in the cities there.. :p
ReplyDeleteI GOT YOUR POSTCARD TODAY! David called me because he gets home before me and was just as excited as I am. "You got a postcard from Michigan! It's so pretty! It's from Sara!" Hehehehe.
I LOVE the photo of you and Kyle. And the first one of you in the telephone box. Red looks amazing on you :)

I love that you're sharing so much of your trip on your blog! I love seeing the photos.
ReplyDeleteI honestly giggled when I read "how much is that doggie in the window?" haha The houses are wonderful aren't they?
And of course, you look awfully cute as always. :]
love the colors in your outfit
ReplyDeletethis trip looks like a lot of fun, I've been to Chicago before, but never to Wicker Park, must go!
thanks for the comment on my post. I never realized how relatable that topic would be! I am no stranger to the fact that I'll probably have to hold another random job at some point in order to pay for my writing, but in some sense I see that as a good thing because having an actual job forces you out into the real world instead of being stuck in your head all day haha
Ohmigosh Sara...your description of Wicker Park has just made me fall fully and completely in love with the area. I'll admit that I'm a sucker for hipsters, dive bars, and used record stores - not to mention Urban Outfitters, of course!
ReplyDeleteLove you in that phone booth, by the way! I've always been obsessed with them myself courtesy of Superman. Sad, I know!! :)
Such cool pictures! I loved the movie Wicker Park - it makes me want to go to Chicago!! More so now that I saw your pics!
