I love my furry babies, or as Kyle so lovingly refers to them as "our furry bastard children". I grumble about having to sweep EVERY single day, and going through lint rolls by the ton, but life would not be the same without these guys terrorizing my every waking moment. It is no surprise that my instagram is full of images of  animals...and food. 

Kyle and I decided to watch “Sweet November” last night, because we apparently hate ourselves. I love that movie, it is so sappy. Kyle could not refrain himself from saying “aww!” every ten minutes, why do we do this to ourselves?!

Anyway, as much as I love the refreshingly cool days of September after the heat of summer, and all of the hauntings, and fall festivities of October, I still have a soft-spot for November. The poor month always gets lost in the shuffle between Halloween and Christmas, Thanksgiving is probably the only acknowledgment it gets. I however refuse to let November become the red-headed step-child! I will celebrate this month by watching yet another November movie: “Pieces of April” (in which I actually like Katie Holms in something), I will watch the Detroit parade on TV Thanksgiving morning, and I will learn to cook a turkey (I get a free one from work, so why not?). Given the actual history of what Thanksgiving is supposed to be, I never really liked to celebrate. Now however, I look at the holiday in the more modern way it is regarded: to simple give thanks. I love seeing all of my family and Kyle’s family, and eating a giant meal that my Mom took extra care to make for us. And seriously, who doesn’t love turkey and pie? November is cool!

Wedding projects, & gardens, & cats-oh my! Want to know the secret to growing an amazing vegetable/herb garden? Plant items, water-log them by forgetting to turn off the sprinkler, and pulling weeds? Pssh! Over-rated. Seriously though, Kyle and I have been so busy with life that we have been the worst gardeners ever. We have Jurassic Park sized weeds growing on the outside of our fence, and I am pretty sure that the neighbors think we are some sort-of white-trash hippies. Never fear, cleaning up the yard, again, is on the list for this weekend, so hopefully we can regain our image of the awesome young couple who just happen to grow corn in their yard. Yes, we’ve got summer squash, beans, peas, tomatoes, dill, basil, kale, mint, orange mint, medium-hot peppers, and corn is on it’s way. We only killed a few of the flowers, including my pretty sunflowers, but all the shade plants are still alive and well. We even have some grass on our lawn, which is more than what most people in the Midwest have at the moment.

Hey Monday, what is going on? Did everyone have a great weekend? We did! Lots of Mother’s Day festivities, hang-time with friends, running, and seeing The Avengers for a second time (still awesome, FYI). Here is a little bit if my last week on Instagram, you can add me “She is Sara” 

1) It is always difficult getting my cats to sit still for a pic, but this is Mary-Kittens in all her glory. She likes to hide in the curtains and stare at the neighbors, or as my dad would say “Watch the news”.

2) This is one of my most favorite places in my house. I have my own coffee & tea cart, complete with my favorite toy ever: My French Press.

3) Here are the bow ties two of the little guys standing up in my wedding are going to wear. My little brother Liam, and Kyle’s nephew, Dontae.

4) Also, I like to wear robots.

Last night Kyle and I participated in more Halloween festivities at another Halloween party, and we had a lot of fun! Kyle decided to go as a "Smarty-Pants" and I went as a Witch. We hit up CVS for some cheap accessories and there you go, two cheapo costumes. The party was pretty fun, especially for us not knowing anyone there. Aaron greeted us and then I quickly found the only other person I knew from my class, Jason. Kyle seemed to hit it off with some of their friends, and like always, I seem to have a radar to find the other Sara(h)'s in the room, hehe.

Now I have to get this house in order, one day I will manage to keep it clean longer than a week. I have lots of homework on the agenda so I am not sure how well posting is going to be this week, but I am hoping to get a food post up soon. That way I can manage to cook something and prevent Kyle from ordering another pizza, ugh!

View from my seat at the kitchen table. I have had this old rickety fan ever since I have had my own room. I kind of stole it when I moved out a long time ago and it has been helping us keep cool ever since. Kyle pulled this giant squash from the garden last week, it is HUGE.

This is a random driveway by the Speedway near our house. I love how dirty and gross it is but these beautiful flowers hanging over the wall are so pretty! I think this maybe a great place for some outfit photos.

Proof that I occasionally take photos too, but Kyle is the one with the photography skills. 

 I did mention a small gathering that happened this past weekend at our place in my last post, and it was a pretty good time. We had originally planned for lighting up the fire-pit but right when everyone was supposed to head over the sky turned dark and it poured! Then it turned several shades of orange, really bizarre but beautiful, so we decided to camp out in the basement and blast some tunes. We ended up spending the night talking about fan-fiction, watching videos on Becky's laptop, talking about poop, drinking  beer, playing cards, going to the liquor store and picking up a stray kitten, giving it a bath and some food, and wearing a helmet. Okay so maybe Becky has a new pet and only my brother wore the helmet but as you can see from the pictures, good times!

We have some amazing plans for tomorrow too! Now I am off to spend my Friday night cleaning, doing some yard work and homework so that I can play with my friends all weekend, haha.
