Ann-Arbor Blogger Meet-up!
6:51 PM
Saturday was such a blast! Suze from Miss Vinyl Ahoy, hosted a blogger Meet-up/clothing swap in Ann Arbor. Suze and I chat on twitter every now and again, and I was really excited to finally get a chance to meet her in person. So, Tiffany, Brittney, Cat and I, decided to pile into my little Saturn and head out to Ann Arbor for the afternoon. I am so thankful for Cat and her husbands' Iphone. I think I ended up turning around about five times between the ride there and back. Ann Arbor is confusing! I have driven to Chicago, all around the UP, and in Detroit, but I always end up getting confused when it comes to Ann Arbor.
As true Michigan bloggers, we meet up in a beautiful park, the Nicholas Arboretum. Suze was sure to supply us with Faygo and Better Maid chips, to support the Mitten-State, Yum! We each received adorable rings, and set out our clothes to swap. I ended up with some cute skirts and a top, and managed to purge a few items out of my own closet. I have never been to a clothing swap before, and I have to say that I loved it. Everyone was so nice, and we chatted as we sized up clothing. But the best part was meeting so many Michigan (and one Ohio), bloggers! I got to meet a few new girls that were all very sweet and funny: Liz, Jaclyn, & Katie!

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had fun. A clothing-swap is a terrific idea, only in my case I'd need to do a meetup with giant-bloggers...

ReplyDeleteI love the colors of your outfit. I'm totally transfixed by them. They seem to capture the lovely color of the fading autumn leaves just perfectly. Surprisingly, green is often left out of the Fall color palette, so I'm glad to see it so well done here.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a fun meet up! I haven't seen any blogger friends since last December and I'm definitely missing conversation with girls who appreciate a vintage dress just as much as I do.
I have a woeful driving story from Ann Arbor as well! The reason why I know so much about MI/vacationed there most of my childhood is because my parents are from there (Dad- Lansing/Charlevoix, Mom-Grand Rapids) but they both met at the University of Michigan. Consequently, we've spent many a time at MI football games (my parents are visiting old friends for one this October) which naturally lead to parking fiascos. My favorite story was when our family friends took us out for a nice dinner in downtown Ann Arbor. Our host had parked in a permit lot where they normally never check if people have the sticker or not. Given that it was the night after a big game though and MI lost so the cops were ornery, they were hyper vigilant about parking tickets. Needless to say, after dinner, we found the car had been towed. What was once a pleasant evening turned into our host ranting and us taking shelter in an adorable cafe called Sweet Water. I remember the experience as funny despite the overall irritating nature of it.
It was so great to meet you in person finally! :)
