Little Bits: Catching Up

Greetings! This past weekend was a weekend of being frugal, and catching up. I took Friday off work, so that I could catch up on some things around the house, aka sleep in. So Thursday night we had some s'mores and beers around the fire-pit in the backyard, because YUM. Friday night we headed out for critical mass, and we biked just shy of 20 miles around the city, pausing to smash a couple of PB&J's, like you do. After, we had some beers with our friend Dan, it was a good night.

Saturday, Kyle and I headed down to Eastern Market for groceries and lunch. We then decided to hit up the thrift store, and decided to take our bikes. Now that we both have working bikes, it is kind of awesome to give our cars a break, and it is also awesome to get a little bit of exercise in, considering that s'more below will not be the last one entering my system this summer. We then spent the rest of the night drinking PBR and watching TV.

Sunday I met up with my friend from college Chelsea, as she was visiting from Portland. We grabbed coffee at a place I have never been to in Birmingham called Commonwealth, and they had great coffee! They also had great macaroons, Chelsea bought me a s'mores one (go figure). We bummed around Birmingham for a few hours, and it was really awesome to catch up.

I got home just in time for the giant thunderstorm that rolled through, and it thankfully killed the gross humidity that we have been blessed with lately. I made us food, we walked Louie, then watched more TV. It was a really calm, nice weekend, and I am looking forward to more like them soon.

I am also probably going die of ramen and PBR overdose, but if I have veggies with them, it cancels out the bad stuff, right?

  1. haha so many noodles! Every time we pop back to the UK we always pick up a case of noodles, I there are 40 in it, we look so student like and chronically unhealthy. I've never had s'mores... I feel like I'm missing out.
