Eats: Cranberry Scones

5:30 PM

My first time making scones guys!! These were so great, and so easy to make! I have left-over dried fruit from earlier baking awesomeness so be prepared to see more scones on this blog. Also, baking delicious baked goods makes my house NOT smell like two cats and a giant dog are the sole residents. So, win-win!

Get
1 1/2 cups AP flour
2/3 cups wheat flour
1/3 cups packed, brown sugar
2 tsp sugar
2 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2/3 cups sour cream
3 tbsp butter, melted
1 large egg
1/3 cup dried cranberries
Cooking spray
Cinnamon
Powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl, then mix egg, sour cream and butter in another bowl, creaming together. Add the egg mixture to the dry mix. Stir in cranberries. Turn dough out on a lightly floured surface, kneed lightly 6-12 times with lightly floured hands (dough will be crumbly). Split in half, and flatten out into a 6-inch circles, and cut wedges into dough-do not separate. Sprinkle the powdered sugar and cinnamon on top. Bake for 15 minutes, or until lightly browned.
