This is the outfit I wore to work with my new haircut last week and everyone told me that I looked really professional. I don’t mind the more “polished” look, but not on me, I am definitely a bigger fan of the messy pixie hair. I was also told that I had “Lady Brady” hair, and that I looked like Justin Bieber by another person, so avoiding those resembles is going to be in my favor in the future.

In other news, my car Beans is in the hospital again (aka: my dad’s garage). He thinks he can fix it, but probably not until this weekend. I honestly should just look into getting a newer car but I don’t have the funds at the moment if I want to go somewhere for our honeymoon in the spring. My student loans payments are also cutting into this, and I am afraid to look for a higher-paying job when my car is on the fritz. Luckily I work with my dad, so he has been giving me rides, but such is life.

My dad and I were actually talking about that this morning on the ride in: life and how hard things can be sometimes. I knew that I was not going to be handed a better paying job the minute I graduated, I knew that buying a house was not going to save me that much money vs. paying rent, and I know that I won’t be able to do all the things that I want to do right now this minute. I have learned to try to do something everyday that makes me feel good though, be it making something delicious to eat for dinner, or a long walk with Kyle, or sometimes just snuggling on the couch with Louie. There is no life lesson really in this post, just a reminder to tell myself to calm my tits every now and again. And sometimes, that involves a pumpkin-spice latte to do so.

  2. Your posts totally make my day. Enjoy the time spent riding to work with your dad. Slow down, enjoy life, have a latte. Sometimes we want to speed up life, have more money in our bank account, and we end up dwelling on things that might make our life better (the "if onlys"...) The "if onlys" make us miss out on seeing all the cool stuff that our life already has. Happiness and contentment... that's what it's all about! Keep rocking it!

  7. Polka dot skirt!! Oh I love it! And I agree on the messy pixie look. I like it better than something too slicked back. Bummer about your car, I hope it's easily fixable!

  8. Wow, you're really learning life-lessons right now. Try to be aware that this is a stage you're going through and life will definitely ease up for you (and Kyle) when funds increase. In the meantime, continue observing and learning about life the way you are; then, later, you'll have wisdom to go with your comfort.

I love your hair. It reminds me of a look many cute girls had in the 1960's (e.g., Twiggy, Mia Farrow).

Your pixie haircut is gorgeous though and I'm definitely a huge fan of messy hair for that cut. You pull it off so beautifully!

  11. people suck balls when it comes to complimenting someone about abrupt change. you rock that messy pixie to me, and no way in HELL do you look like Justin Bieber?! Who says that??? He didn't invent that haircut or even make it popular to begin with. Screw them.

I love your outfit, especially if it's purple mixed with a navy polka dot skirt (I can't really tell, I've always been colorblind when it comes to close colors!) but whatever color it is I LOVE it!
