We stopped in Traverse City on the way home because I had never actually been there before. We stopped for lunch and hit up a bookstore where I did some damage. Traverse City is a really cute city, and I am bummed that I did not get to spend more time there. I know that I will have to drag Kyle back there soon (like he would be opposed), because there is so much more of the city that I would like to see.

Right now I have so many projects going on in my life that I am a little overwhelmed. I used to have such a good drive, and strong motivation. Now I am always tired and I tend to let things slack. I have decided that I am not going to let that happen anymore. I can't give up just because something does not go according to plan, I need to learn to work around it. I need to make the most out of my days, and to get as much done as possible, so I am not rushing around at the last minute. This is going to start today.

  3. Traverse City sounds amazing! I'm loving that bridge walkway. So romantic! <3

I know what you mean about slacking off. I've been doing that for weeks now. I'm sick and I've been extremely lazy. It's okay tho! It happens lol.

  7. Super cute outfit Sarah! Very laid back and stylish :D.

I know what you mean about getting disappointed that things don't go the way you really want them to. Specially when you have tons of other things you want to be just exactly the way they should be! It's okay though, just keep the good vibes rolling and remember that no matter what goes wrong everything will turn out fine in the end :)

  9. Amazing outfit! It's a great inspiration for how to work chambray into a fall wardrobe.

I LOVE Traverse City. I haven't been there in years sadly, but wish I could go back. It's so quaint, but large enough to have more culture than just the typical sleepy lakeside town vibe you get in North Michigan. You need to go back!

I'm proud of you for realizing that you need to get motivated again. A lot of people would just let the stress overwhelm them and not bother to do anything about it, some wouldn't even notice it was a problem. Good for you for taking control of your life. My schedule has been pretty crazy as of late too. I realized last week that I need to tone it down (I don't need to attend every student society event I've been invited to that week), prioritize (go to kickboxing practice, but skip the drinks afterward), and really make use of my early morning hours. I'm still not 100% productive yet, but I'm making the effort and it's already calming me down.

  11. Sara, I just realized how behind I am on reading your other posts. I have so much to say:

    1. Your photos in the previous post of Lake Michigan are absolutely beautiful. Your use of depth of field is amazing. Like MI might just be my all time favorite like because it feels as vast as an ocean, but is located in the Midwest and salt water free.

    2. And I loved your posts about Charlevoix. My great grandparents lived up there, so my dad used to visit every summer and work at The Weathervane. I hope you went to Murdicks for some fudge, it's the best in the world!

Did you guys pass through Harbor Springs by any chance? My parents own land up there and hope to build something when they retire. I want to visit them, so they better! haha

    3. Also, the goulash recipe looks delish. I know you claim it's "junk food," but I don't get enough red meat in my diet right now and that looks both easy and yummy.

  12. That does look like a really cute place. This is in Michigan right? When I took a trip up to MI for a conference in Detroit, I honestly thought it was such a strange place. The city was a ghost town, no one around and the surrounding areas were so flat and rundown - but your photos of MI always make it look like such a beautiful place:) and seriously makes me want to go exploring up there again. Your jean shirt and dress combo are adorable and perfect for fall.
